Antonia Claudie Eco-Friendly debuts Lampshade Collection

We are pleased to present Antonia Claudie's new lampshade collection with a variety of unique colour-ways, crafted with the elegance of natural hand-dye.

Being able to create a luxurious but sustainable collection was crucial to Antonia.

Her approach begins with the use of organic peace silk in three different types of silk, which are all responsibly produced, GOTS-certified peace silk.

The inside of the shade is backed with eco-cellulose for a sustainable solution as an alternative to the less eco-friendly options on the market.

The colourways are created from natural dyes from food-waste and plant extracts such as crushed walnuts, coffee grounds, and avocado pits that are all used to produce distinctive patterns on each lampshade.

Natural dyes were used before the development of chemical alternatives. We still honour the original techniques and have been able to create our signature pattern through a natural reaction using these eco-friendly dyes.

The beauty of hand dyeing lies in its unique look and irregularity, as each piece of fabric will have its own distinct look within the colourway, making the result beautiful and exclusive.

We had the opportunity to collaborate with Martin Huxford and create costume made shades to go with Martin’s sculptural lamp stands. Martin’s lampstands were exhibited with our shades during the show “Formed with Future Heritage” at Chelsea Design Centre.

It was an honour to have presented our debut lampshades collection in collaboration with Martin Huxford.

We are excited to announce that our shades will be available in the UK, France and America via distributors and agents.
