Transforming a Wall

A classic London Victorian building with classic features and elements of historical architecture.

We wanted to create a unique living room with a delicate feature wall to elevate the space.

We chose one of the more neutral Antonia Claudie silk wallcoverings for the wall to provide more calm colour and focus where it was needed.

The signature element of this project was our Dupion peace silk wallcovering, handmade with high quality silk. The silk is hand-dyed with natural coffee waste and printed with rust before it was turned into a final wallcovering for this project.

The pattern created on each wall repeats seamlessly together on the wall. The final wallcovering is a unique artwork featuring the signature pattern of Antonia Claudie.

The wallcovering was applied on the wall by an experienced installer.

Antonia Claudie Eco-Friendly debuts Lampshade Collection

We are pleased to present Antonia Claudie's new lampshade collection with a variety of unique colour-ways, crafted with the elegance of natural hand-dye.

Being able to create a luxurious but sustainable collection was crucial to Antonia.

Her approach begins with the use of organic peace silk in three different types of silk, which are all responsibly produced, GOTS-certified peace silk.

The inside of the shade is backed with eco-cellulose for a sustainable solution as an alternative to the less eco-friendly options on the market.

The colourways are created from natural dyes from food-waste and plant extracts such as crushed walnuts, coffee grounds, and avocado pits that are all used to produce distinctive patterns on each lampshade.

Natural dyes were used before the development of chemical alternatives. We still honour the original techniques and have been able to create our signature pattern through a natural reaction using these eco-friendly dyes.

The beauty of hand dyeing lies in its unique look and irregularity, as each piece of fabric will have its own distinct look within the colourway, making the result beautiful and exclusive.

We had the opportunity to collaborate with Martin Huxford and create costume made shades to go with Martin’s sculptural lamp stands. Martin’s lampstands were exhibited with our shades during the show “Formed with Future Heritage” at Chelsea Design Centre.

It was an honour to have presented our debut lampshades collection in collaboration with Martin Huxford.

We are excited to announce that our shades will be available in the UK, France and America via distributors and agents.

Antonia Claudie debuts Interior Collection

Antonia Claudie debuts Interior Design Collection

On early February, from the 7th to the 9th, Antonia Claudie debuted her new Interior Collection at the Surface Design Show.

The Surface Design Show took place in London’s Business Design Centre over the course of three days. During this period, the brand received countless visitors eager to learn more about the brand.

Antonia Claudie’s new collection, which will be launching to public soon, consists of two exquisite pieces in eleven different colourways. The Luciano Wall Covering and the Hildegarde Screen Divider are both created using natural plant-based dyes. The dyed fabric is then wrapped around rusted iron poles. This chemical reaction creates a pattern on the silk which makes each piece completely bespoke.

The inspiration behind Antonia’s unique dyeing process began during the pandemic, when she no longer had access to typical fabric-printing processes. Since then, Antonia has meticulously perfected her design process, ensuring to use the most sustainable silk materials and experimenting with different plant-based dyes to ensure the best possible result.

The event brought together the best creative minds in the interior design world, all of whom expressed a significant interest in our circular production process. The brand’s mission is to create products that are luxurious but also increase attention to the importance of renewable, cruelty free design approaches. Antonia Claudie has always taken particular interest in developing products with natural elements and organic fabrics to reduce negative impact on the planet and create a unique experience around their products.

During the three days spent at the event many interior designers, architects and sustainability strategists shared their inputs and thoughts on the future of creative and manufacturing industries and how important is their role in creating a greener world. Hence, it is important to always be looking for brands that are stepping away from conventional process and searching for better ways to create beautiful products.

The team at Antonia Claudie was thrilled about the response from the Surface Design Show, which was an enriching experience for the brand and will have a vast impact on the brand’s future.

The new collection will be available to public soon.
